In Medellín, taking care of your health begins at the local level, in neighborhoods, homes, and the spaces where daily life unfolds. Medellín Te Queire Saludable (Medellín Wants You Healthy ) is a program that brings healthcare closer to the people, promotes self-care, and strengthens collective well-being through a comprehensive, accessible, and human approach.
Objective
To improve the health conditions of the community by bringing different health services, health promotion actions and disease prevention to the territories, in order to provide comprehensive care that responds to the different dimensions of public health and the realities of each environment.
How does it develop?
Medellín Te Quiere Saludable operates through Basic Health Care Teams (EBAS), made up of an interdisciplinary human talent committed to the care of life, including:
- Nurses and nursing assistants
- Nutritionists
- Oral hygienists
- Environmental technologists
- Psychologists
- Speech-language pathologists
- Physiotherapists
- Community agents
- These teams carry out their actions directly in the environments where the community lives:

As a complement, the program implements the Healthy Living Fairs strategy, health events held in the districts and townships of Medellín, where citizens can access:
- Health services
- Screenings and assessments
- Educational activities
- Personalized guidance for health care
Who is it aimed at?
To all the people who live in the communes and districts of Medellín, at all stages of the life cycle: from early childhood to old age.
How to participate or access?
- Visit the fairs, events or activities that the program carries out in your commune or district.
- Get involved when the Basic Health Care Teams (EBAS) visit your neighborhood, educational institution, or workplace.
