The Medellín Family Unit is a District strategy that offers comprehensive care to people and families in vulnerable situations, through psychosocial and family support processes that seek to strengthen the capacities, bonds and living conditions of households in Medellín.
The project promotes well-being from a holistic view of the human being, facilitating access to social, institutional and community opportunities, and operating national programs, such as those led by Prosperidad Social, aimed at overcoming extreme poverty.
How does the support process unfold?
Psychosocial support
It provides spaces for listening, guidance and professional attention to address situations that affect individual and family well-being, strengthening coexistence, emotional health and good living.
Comprehensive family support
It seeks to improve the living conditions of the most vulnerable households through the development of individual and collective capacities, the strengthening of family dynamics and access to social inclusion pathways, with a differential, rights-based and territorial approach.
Who is it aimed at?
- People and households residing in the 16 communes and 5 districts of Medellín.
- Families classified in SISBEN IV (groups A, B and C).
- Households in conditions of psychosocial risk, food insecurity, extreme poverty.
- Migrant, refugee and returned population with a desire to remain.
- Families referred by District entities or through PQRSD.
